The Challenge
Planning permission was refused in the 1980s for a conversion to a single dwelling on the basis of resisting open market dwellings in the open countryside. The challenge was to convince the Local Planning Authority that the project was justified in both planning and heritage terms.
The Outcome
We were able to demonstrate that the windmill is a heritage asset, Shropshire only has 20 remaining windmills and achieve the support of the Conservation Officer. Planning permission was granted on this basis on the 16th of May 2014. (Ref. 12/02797/FUL)
